I purchased this app 10 days ago (on 16 April 2012). Until last night, I had only used the text-based aspect of the app, and Ive been pleased with the definitions and the information. However, last night, when I tried to use the audio function, I discovered that it does not work. Accordingly, I used the developers online submission form to inform the developer of the problem, and to ask for assistance.
On the plus side: I received a rapid response addressing my concerns.
On the negative side: the response noted that the company is aware of the problem and is working to resolve it. Let me be clear: I dont consider it a dramatic negative that the app has a problem -- these things happen. What I do find to be a negative is the fact that I did not see this information on the app page. Given that this non-functionality is a known issue, I believe that the developer should indicate that on the app page, and inform the potential buyer that the company is working to resolve the issue. Thus, if the audio function is crucial to a potential buyers purchasing decision, she can make an informed decision about her purchase.
Owing to these issues involving the lack of up-front communication and the lack of functionality of part of the program, I currently rate the program at 3 stars. When the program is updated and fully functional, Ill revisit my review.
